How to play
Pick a song. Play detective.
Search by song or artist and lock in your pick. Follow the round’s theme if one is set.
Songs play in a random order for the length chosen by the host.
Pick who you think chose each song. Earn 1 point for every correct guess; earn 3 if your song fools everyone.
Discover everyone’s picks after each round. The highest total score wins the game.
Privacy & game terms
Track Me Down is a browser game using YouTube API Services. By continuing into a game, you agree to this policy and the YouTube Terms of Service.
Pass-and-play on one device
Nicknames, selected video IDs, titles, artists, guesses, settings and scores are stored in this browser’s local storage so you can resume. The saved game expires after 24 hours without a game update and is removed on the next visit. “Delete game & start over” removes it immediately. Browser storage is accessible to anyone with access to this device; hide-and-pass screens protect ordinary play, not inspection of the device.
No analytics, advertising trackers, payments, guest accounts, or YouTube login credentials are collected by this app. The hosting service may process routine request and security logs, such as IP addresses. Search phrases and song-link checks are sent through the app server to YouTube to find videos.
Rooms with separate phones
Online rooms store nicknames, selected songs, guesses, settings and scores in a database on Railway’s persistent storage. Each browser tab stores a random session token to reconnect without an account. Treat your room code and session as private. The server sends each player only their own song and guess status until the reveal; only the host receives the current video for playback. Rooms are automatically deleted after six hours without activity. Closing your tab may lose your session; it does not immediately delete the room.
The public site uses HTTPS. Local development rooms run on the host’s computer and disappear when that local server stops. Railway and Cloudflare process network requests and security information to provide hosting, domain services and protect the site. We do not use room data for advertising or profiling.
YouTube content
When the visible YouTube player loads, YouTube receives information including your IP address, browser details and page origin. YouTube may use cookies or similar technology, show advertisements, and process information under the Google Privacy Policy. You can also open YouTube search in a separate tab. Videos are streamed in the official visible player; this app does not download or extract audio.
Playback depends on YouTube, your connection, region, and video restrictions. Tracks are selected by the room; there is no child-safe content guarantee. The app’s technical use of an embedded player is not a clearance of music rights for every use of the game.
Questions & deletion
Contact the host who invited you to request deletion on the shared device. Online room data expires automatically as described above. You can also clear this site’s browser data. YouTube’s own data controls are available through your Google account.
